BRZ. Creature comforts and power, along with (as far as I've read) better handling.
Also, I'd prefer to keep it as stock looking as possible.

Track: BRZ. Because weight and cg. And tires are smaller, so cheaper.
DD: 370Z. Because hp and looks.

Getting a 370z down to 2999 lbs would be damn tough if you want to keep it streetable. You would have to remove the entire interior. It also looks like that one in the picture has a cage, which you definitely dont want to roll around in without a helmet.

I really do like the rear view from the old NISMO 370z . Always wanted one, but the interior is lacking...

What exactly is necessary interior wise to be street legal?

I'd really not choose either, but if pushed I'd say the BRZ since at this point in my life driving around in a stripped out track toy doesn't hold much appeal unless actually at the track.

I don't think the BRZs interior is any better though lol

Stick the 332HP N/A engine in the BRZ. Why not? People have been putting 2Jzs, LS1s and all manner of stuff in there already, so you know it'll fit...
Not really down with the S/C BRZ because I've seen some crappy kits make installation a nightmare. A good kit might change my mind, though.

BRZ, its easier to add power than lightness. I can still use the BRZ as a DD, the Z is only a toy.

The BRZ is purposeful, the Nissan interior with the orange LCD screens. Yuck, it did get better with time...
When i was shopping, i had really terrible experiences at the Nissan dealers so that affected my decision largely.

Not much, although it depends on the state. But daily-driving a car with no interior and a full cage is not only extremely unpleasant, but downright dangerous if you are not wearing a helmet. I only know one guy who is crazy enough to do it, and I scold him every time!

I think with similar power/weight, the brz still has the better chassis, no?

It does. I have a white 370 nismo, and it sure doesn't feel anywhere nearly as good as its big sister counterpart the g37. The feel tho, when you drive the thing, unff. Its just like a hairy chested bastard that grabs you by the scruff of the neck, and makes you give it more gas. Intoxicating. I tried convincing myself that I wanted something fancier, but everytime i test drive something else it feels bland and boring.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately the local dealer was horrible and I landed in an FRS (happily). With intake/exhaust/header + tune its a fun beast. I will be looking to grow my collection in a year or two, but i'll likely hang onto the FRS for a while.
Fancy means excess buttons, weight, and things all distracting from the driving experience. Simple is good.

This is true. Very true. After all, what we fall in love with is our car, right?

A lot of things made me choose it, and some of them were the wrong things. But for better or worse, I love my Z. Here is the reasoning: the brz is too small for me, i'm 6'3" and 240lbs, the steering felt numb (to me), the interior felt just like what I had (2011 scion tc), and still have. The BRZ had nearly the same amount of practicality, with the added quirks that I love (boxer engine, low weight). But the biggest deciding factor for me was how I felt when driving each. When I test drove the nismo it felt ballsy, with a purpose (not to be practical, that is for sure), and the weight with the added aero make it feel insanely stable at high speeds. I've never felt so comfortable doing 80mph on a freeway. My cars: First car 1994 Prelude si, then a 2004 350z (engine went to shit given that the previous owner never changed the oil, so that had to go). Then I got a cheap, 2006 civic, after that I got my first brand new car, the 2011 scion tc. Then the nismo. So I didn't get rid of another vehicle for this, this was an addition as I was moving from AZ to KS for a job. My wife still has the TC, and it has been nothing but trouble. As some of you may remember.
I stand by my choice. It is stiff, horrible at gas, doesn't even have bluetooth audio streaming (only hands-free calling). But then there is the feeling of sitting in deeply bolstered seats, with a nice big push start button glowing red for you to unhinge the monster. You push that button, and a series of nicely-lit orange needles swing around the cluster.. see? I could go on for days. I honestly always believe no matter what you choose, you will fall in deep love with it. Even if it is a pile of steaming unreliable shit, it becomes YOUR steaming pile of doo-doo. I love my heavy, angry, hairy-chested 370z nismo. :D

Thanks for the awesome reply lol. I definitely need to test drive one. I love the z cars. My dad owned one. So that makes me want one more. What kind of gas mileage do you get around town?

Haha no worries, sorry I rambled. Not a lot of people really talk like that about their cars, they talk more in hope to get a reaction out of the person asking what they drive. Or why. The way I see it drive a car for you, because it gives you a feeling nothing else does, not because it has X,Y,Z.
I get around 16mpg if I drive it to around 4.5k revs per shift, which is kind of needed given the only time i drive in town is downtown, which is hilly as heck. I get 18 if I am gentle, and 19 in freeway. But lately I've been grandmaing it, and getting 20 combined. But I know I get a couple of middle fingers behind me (THAT level of grandma)

LOL that's not terrible. About what my friend gets in his new WRX. Kinda what I expect from a performance oriented car. Thanks man. I enjoyed the rambling!

He did say a stripped out Z though, that's why the interior inthe BRZ is better.
